ICON Development Solutions occupies a fully-equipped clinical pharmacology investigative
unit, formerly known as Medeval, Ltd. on the Manchester Science Park, adjacent to the main
University of Manchester campus and Manchester’s main central hospital
(Manchester Royal Infirmary - MRI).
80 beds (including 4 individual bedroom units) arranged in 9 ward areas
Intensive monitoring (with almost half the beds having full ECG monitors)
On-site clinical pathology laboratory accredited to internationally recognized standards
On-site bioanalytical and immunoassay laboratories accredited to internationally recognized standards
On-site pharmacy unit (undertakes all preparations and dispensing of study materials and is equipped with a clean room facility with a grade "A" isolator system for Aseptic drug dispensing) accredited to internationally recognized standards
Intensive monitoring equipment
Extensive and fully validated pharmacodynamic models in cardiovascular, CNS and metabolic diseases
Collaboration with 18-bed Medicines Evaluation Unit on Wythenshaw hospital Campus providing us with access to hospital-based clinical facilities for first-in-human studies with access to emergency and intensive care facilities
Access to imaging through PET, fMRI and echocardiograph capabilities

Full cardiac monitoring and assessment via 8-channel telemetry, digital multiple/serial central ECGs, continuous 12-lead Holter monitors, core ECG Data Storage - ideal for tQTC studies
